Craft Roots Vegan Bar & Grill Freelance

My freelance work with Craftroots Vegan Bar and Grill focuses on creating marketing and promotional materials for a local family owned restaurant. The goal of this work is to help the restaurant share its offerings, promote events, and connect with its community through clear, visually engaging design.

My role includes designing social media posts, promotional flyers, event graphics, and branded content for both digital and print use. I also help shape a more personalized social media voice that reflects the restaurant’s warm, local, and community centered identity. The work requires balancing creativity with practical marketing needs, making sure each design communicates quickly while still feeling connected to the overall brand.

Working with a family owned business has given me a high level of creative freedom, which has allowed me to experiment with layout, tone, color, and visual storytelling. At the same time, it has taught me how to navigate client feedback and real world design constraints. Some revisions pushed the work away from the original brand identity, which became an important lesson in balancing stakeholder requests with brand consistency.

I create this work using Adobe Illustrator, Canva, and Claude. Illustrator supports custom graphic design and layout refinement, Canva allows for efficient content production and handoff, and Claude helps support copywriting, caption development, and promotional messaging.

The outcome is an ongoing collection of promotional materials that support Craftroots’ visibility both online and around town. This work has strengthened my skills in freelance communication, social media design, brand voice development, client collaboration, and designing for a real business with evolving needs.
